Rainbow Zine with artists Anselm Freytag, based in Munich and Daniel Hemel based in Berlin. Hemel & Freytag have always worked on simultaneous projects and the current lock down offered an opportunity to reimagine how they work together over Skype.
36 page zine with special 8 page section tipped in with an interview between the artists and Professor Paul Sermon, of the University of Brighton. The zine and interview explore the working patterns of the artists who work simultaneously over distance. Sermon specialises in telepresent environments and this new interview offers an insight into the artists work.
‘…we figured out that we can paint over skype to record the painting. For example, Daniel starts with the painting and I copy his lines and use the same colour and after a while it changes and I take over and then add something different and he copies my marks.’
